Easter alone isn't quite as bad as Christmas on your own. There are no big presents you have to buy, no major family obligations (unless you're really religious, which we're not) and no football games on the television (which is kind of a bummer).

The upside to Easter? The candy goes on sale afterward. The downside to that is that I have to be the only person I know that doesn't eat chocolate and I can't find any of the pastel suckers anywhere. Did Lifesavers not make them this year? What kind of candy company doesn't make pastel candy for Easter?

This is how I spent my Easter Sunday. Wondering where the lollipops had gone.

Christmas on your own isn't really as hard as some people think. No pressure to make a big dinner for other people and even less pressure to get dressed up and go somewhere else.

Hell, less pressure to get dressed at all.

It's snacky foods all day long, football and - if you feel like it - maybe making some mashed potatoes, because, let's face it. That and the pie are the only good things about food during the holidays.

Fire in the fireplace and warm sweats, hair in a ponytail... deputies working the station... yeah, it was a good day.
